SOUNDS LIKE: A highschool dance party; young, upbeat and friendly.

WHY/WHY NOT: The Got To Get Got’s Sahalee is one upbeat album; the guitars are sticky, the melodies are catchy and the tone is friendly and inviting. Moments of blossoming instrumental flourish add spirit and colour to often otherwise formulaic pop tunes, which is likely brought to the table by the esteemed guest list including members of Ohbijou, Plants and Animals and Sebastian Grainger and The Mountains. At the end of the day, Sahalee is catchy as hell and easily enjoyed; pop it in and press play for a guaranteed good-listen, but not if your pop music standards are high.
