You know that gross rain in which isn't so much raindrops but more of an annoying spray? Yeah. That's what night two of CMW brought. But at least the music was worth the pneumonia.
As everyone began to dry off a bit, The Russian Futurists took the stage to remind everyone how great live they are. Playing some new tracks and crowd favourites like "Paul Simon" and "Let's Get Ready to Crumble" from Me, Myself and Rye, the Toronto band made being soaking wet worth it. Even the luminous Ruth Minnikin made an appearance and stayed long enough to be called "Karen Carpenter from Halifax."
Ending with "Horseshoe Fortune", the short set brought enough energy to the table to justify every sniffle heard amongst the crowd and taught this reporter a lesson: never buy an umbrella from the dollar store.
