Claire Jenkins charms the NXNE crowd

As I quietly search for a viewing spot, the quaint Savannah Room is astir, and it's unclear why. Suddenly, the lights dim and a silhouette figure appears on a bed sheet. The figure begins to sing softly while cutting out a hole to peak her head through. With fluttering arms and active props, she easily captivates the on-lookers of North by Northeast.

The curtain slowly drops to reveal the beautiful Claire Jenkins.

With her band wearing the same paper hat as she, Jenkins jumps into the energy-filled, prop-using set that blows the crowd, and possibly the festival, away.

Jenkins, with her pretty voice and girl-next-door look, plus her mega-talented band captivates the crowd. It's always nice to see a band having fun, smiling and bantering with each other as the crowd enjoys it just as much. Their great attitudes really make their performance unforgettable.

Not only this, but Claire Jenkins Avec Band also have amazing songs to back it all up. Some songs are reminiscent of pure Canadiana and others sound very Decemberist-esque. Each track stands out and every member does his or her part to make it that way. It really makes me wonder why I have never heard of this band before tonight.

They're truly going places - including their first ever tour this summer. Trust me, go - you'll thank me later.
