SOUNDS LIKE: The Dandy Warhols after a mild dose of thorazine.

WHY/WHY NOT: Not exactly what you’d call a high-octane sound, this latest offering from Five Blank Pages is nonetheless an enjoyable listen. Haunting and expressive lyrics combine with gradually crescendoing rhythms to form an easy and mellow vibe. The music is a bit low-energy for this reviewer’s tastes, but makes for good listening on a quiet, chill night in. The band recently announced that this was to be their final album – so this is probably your last chance to see them on tour.
