New Dead Weather Record

A second record from Jack White's supergroup The Dead Weather is coming out this spring, hopefully by April. White, Dean Fertita (Queens of the Stone Age), Alison Mosshart (The Kills) and bassist Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs) are putting finishing touches on their second album before touring Australia and Japan in March and the US soon after. If you want an early listen, the band has put the first two takes of the new album on vinyl through the subscription service Third Man.

Cobain Jr. Sings

Frances Bean Cobain, daughter of Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love is making her musical debut. The 17 year-old has added her voice to a project by Dresden Dolls' Amanda Palmer and Jason Webley. The song is called ‘Myspace' and Entertainment Weekly describes it as, "an anthemic ‘80s power ballad" for Palmer's old-timey freak-show-inspired project, Evelyn Evelyn. Other guest vocalists on the track include Tegan and Sara, Weird Al, and Andrew W.K.

Cohen Delays Tour Due to Injury

Canadian music legend Leonard Cohen has been forced to postpone his European tour for six months. According to his promoters, Cohen was set to launch his tour in France on March 1, but a recent back injury will have to put that on hold while he gets physical therapy for the next four to six months. The tour is now scheduled to begin in France on September 15, and will also hit Poland, Russia and Slovakia.
