Rocking Supergroup in the Works?

Spin.com is reporting that Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl (also of Nirvana fame), Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones and Queens of the Stone Age's Josh Homme are recording an album together. While the details are meagre at best (read: almost non-existent), Homme's wife, Brody Dalle (of Spinnerette) is quoted as saying the project "is pretty fucking amazing. Just beats and sounds like you've never heard before." Grohl apparently first mentioned the project in a 2005 interview with MOJO.

Toronto Celebrates Canada Day with Michael Jackson Tribute

Due to an ongoing strike by municipal unions, most of the City of Toronto's Canada Day celebrations had to be cancelled this year. Add to that the less than perfect weather, and many were forecasting a gloomy birthday in the city. But Torontonians used the opportunity to show their love, not only for their country, but also for the fallen King of Pop. Hundreds of fans converged on Yonge and Dundas Square yesterday in downtown Toronto to sing and dance for hours (for the second time in a week!) in tribute to Michael Jackson; a ‘flash mob' movement which has been spreading all over the Internet for days. A simple YouTube search reveals hundreds of videos taken all over the world from wherever fans are gathering to say goodbye. Check out a couple of notable videos from Victoria, BC and San Francisco, CA.

Breaking the Hearts of 13 Year Old Girls Everywhere...

In one of the only music-related, non-MJ news stories left, one of the Jonas Brothers is reportedly getting married. Kevin Jonas (21), lead singer and oldest brother, proposed yesterday to his girlfriend of two years, Danielle Deleasa (22). Now, unless you're 13, you probably don't care all that much about Kevin Jonas' lifestyle choices, and who could blame you? But there will definitely be some who will rail against the dangers of marrying early, and publicly professing your desire to remain a virgin until marriage (as Kevin has) is bound to make people question your motives. But, let's face it; they're probably still setting a better example for kids than Lindsay Lohan...
