Yusuf Islam Announces First Tour In 33 Years

Yusuf Islam, familiar to many as Cat Stevens, has announced that he will go on tour for the first time since he converted to Islam. The '70s troubadour, famous for folk hits such as "Morning has Broken" and "Father and Son," will perform a number of gigs in Ireland and the UK this fall. His records Tea for the Tillerman and Teaser and the Firecat both went triple platinum in the '70s, making Stevens an international star. In 1977 he converted to Islam and retreated to London, where he focused his efforts on charity work.

DJ Roc Raida Dies

We're saddened to report that turntablist DJ Roc Raida, known for his innovative trick dj-ing, passed away on Saturday. Details of the death are scant, but reports have suggested the one-time member of the X-Ecutioners was involved in a mixed martial arts accident. Raida, born Anthony Williams, won the DMC World DJ Championship in 1995. Busta Rhymes, who had toured with the pioneering DJ for several years, dedicated a number of Twitter posts to Raida, calling him "unbelievably talented" and a "beautiful spirit."

New Moon Soundtrack Unveiled

And it actually looks like it will be awesome. The inclusion of a new song by Thom Yorke for the tween-book-series-turned-movie sensation seems a little less baffling now that we can see the entire list of songs and performers: Swedish pop star Lykke Li, indie darlings Grizzly Bear, and Death Cab for Cutie all make an appearance on the album. Perhaps most exciting is the collaboration of Bon Iver and St. Vincent. Almost makes the movie worth watching. Almost.
