When Yeah Yeah Yeahs returned with their third studio release It's Blitz!, no one really expected them to take over the dance floor the way they have, and arguably the song that got that trend going was their second single "Heads Will Roll". With guitars scaled down and synthesizers turned way up, "Heads Will Roll" grabs you and doesn't let go, I mean it's right there in the lyrics: "dance dance dance ‘til you're dead".
It's the song that puts on display the very obvious transition Yeah Yeah Yeahs have made since their first release Fever To Tell. The overhauled sound is more dance party complete with glitter and flashing lights rather than beat you over the head indie rock.
Karen O's passion is unrivaled and a song like "Heads Will Roll" is proof that she can outshine any of the usual dance queens in the spotlight on radio and music charts.
