				Middle Cyclone by Neko Case

Middle Cyclone makes me wish I was sitting on a huge porch swing, with an endless supply of mint juleps and preferably with Neko Case beside me... but since that'll never happen, I'll just have to keep Middle Cyclone on repeat, much like I've been doing for most of this year.

Middle Cyclone is full of everything we've come to love from Case—lilting alt-country, thought-provoking lyrics, and a voice that will pick you up, toss you around, and throw you tumbled in a breathless heap in a corner, much like the feeling evoked from the lead track "This Tornado Loves You". The achingly beautiful ode to lost love, "Vengeance is Sleeping", rips out your heart with lyrics like "All I had was my invention/ And my love invented on you'" Case's effortless storytelling is at its finest point; it's like she's sharing her private fairy tales, and for that we're all a little bit better off than we were before.
