“Dizzy’s Goatee” by Joe Strummer |
This is a truly great song off a commercial flop of an album, Earthquake Weather (in fact it was the reason Sony kicked him out the door). The title refers to the spirit of jazz hipsters Dizzy Gillespie and Charlie Parker, as the song goes on to discuss the blurring of new and old styles, and the disgust Strummer felt with a hipster appreciation of music as fabric and light.
