Something about Fleet Foxes' debut album seems to have captured the hearts and minds of almost every critic and indie fan across the world. It is a stunning debut album, combining the kind of harmonies that haven't been utilized successfully since The Beatles, and like the Fab Four, Fleet Foxes pull them off with style and apparent ease. The music is certainly on the higher end of the indie-folk boom of the latter years of the decade, and there's an almost hymn-like quality to the songs. Fleet Foxes songs are mystical, delicate and leave a trace of majesty, which, unfortunately, makes this a more removed and cold sounding record than some. However, on the back of this incredible debut, they're more than ready to take the 2010s by storm.
