There isn't an album in my collection that holds such a high honour as Fever to Tell does. It's the only album from this decade I can listen to in any mood in any season. Why? It's just that amazing, of course.

Early in the decade a lot of bands filled with douches were claiming to be punk, but none of them even came close to the raw voice and energy of Karen O and her boys. Fever to Tell rips through you and cuts off every feeling to the organs in your body as Karen O totally takes control of your nerves, body movement and all brain function. Even as I write this, while listening to the album, I'm ripping out clumps of my hair, my spleen is pulsating and I can't begin to explain it. Is it the tongue-in-cheek songwriting? Heavy guitars? Or am I just sitting way too close to the speakers? Regardless, after you've been through the power of "Date With the Night", "Tick", "Black Tongue" and "Maps" there's only one word that can describe the experience of Fever to Tell: satisfying.
