The SXSW Diaries - ok city ok: Day Four

We dragoon friends into bringing in gear from all over town. We play the East Meets Fest party outside a Japanese restaurant, which serves up tasty Japanese/Texan concoctions (hey, just like ok city ok). We also get to see, but not eat, a giant pig in someone's yard.
Then to the Hilton for a TV interview with Al-Jazeera. This is absolutely true and I can prove it. Tom and Shiba answer questions in Japanese and I interpret. I have a newfound respect for interpreters. Everyone involved is going to be miffed when they find out how much my translation was what I thought or hoped someone said.
Then our Official Showcase: We get to drive our vehicle, sporting a SXSW permit, through the crowds to our venue. Our stage manager, heretofore ultra-professional in his emails, has pupils so dilated he looks like the guy from Limp Bizkit. My equipment has somehow gotten half-destroyed since this afternoon's show. I don't remember much about the gig – we sell a few T-shirts and CDs, pack up and go to the airport and fly back to Japan. I still need time to process everything, but in the meantime, please enjoy these giant pig photos.
