The SXSW Diaries - ok city ok: Day Three

I've planned a little barbeque at a friend's house while we're here. My thinking is, the band gets to see what Texans do when they're hanging out, and I get to avoid having to schedule six meals a day in order to see all the people I want to see while I'm back in Austin. The band makes some gyoza, which is a kind of meat dumpling, and my friend Paul comes back from Ruby's BBQ with enough meat to flummox a water buffalo. Eventually neighbors start coming over, attracted by the food. None of my friends show up, because I absolutely suck at organizing things and didn't do a very good job spreading the word. At least, that's what I'm hoping is the reason. In the meantime, I have drunk about sixteen cups of beer.
We get a really late start after managing to bequeath the rest of the beer and food (and cleanup duties) to happy neighbors. We make it to the Austin Music Hall to catch Devo and then I sprint twelve blocks to see Future Clouds & Radar, whose beautiful keyboard player is due to give birth basically any minute now.
