State of Shock decked out in coordinating black, white
and denim rock attire, along with pure smiles for the crowd
rocked the Mod Club. The show started with the energetic
but slightly slower "Life, Love & Lies," which flowed nicely
into a floor thumping rendition of "Hearts That Bleed." Lead
singer, Cam Melynk, knows how to get hearts thumping, strategically
commenting on all the beautiful ladies before singing "Too
Pretty" to the attractive girls at the front of the stage
and grabbing himself to really win them over. The following
song "Best I Ever Had" was sung with what appeared to be forced
emotion, which I found a little cheesy, but the fans loved.

Just when I thought the set list might be a carbon copy of
the new album, the set got more rockin'. Thank god, I thought
to myself. The show was total hard rock from there on out.
The standout song of the night was definitely "Day After Day,"
where four of the five band members participated with strong,
well harmonized vocals and the guitarists and bass player
jumped up and down in unison. Another memorable moment was
when guitar player Simon "Kadooh" Clow took over lead vocals
for an intense cover of "Hey Man, Nice Shot."

Overall, State of Shock's performance was energetic from beginning
to end with a solid mix of pop rock and hard rock. I expected
to be totally cheesed out but was pleasantly surprised and
enjoyed the show. It was a must-see performance for any true
fan.
