Flash Lightnin
THE RIVOLI
- MARCH 7

Not even one of the year's most brutal winter storms could stop a teeming crowd from gathering at the Rivoli for the full frontal assault of Flash Lightnin. The three piece outfit broke out with "Someone Else's Baby," a standard, but incredibly raunchy number, which conjured up the long lost rock of yesteryear.
Flash Lightnin aren't afraid to wear their influences (which include the likes of Led Zeppelin, AC/DC, ZZ Top and Humble Pie) on their sleeve. But most importantly, they are one hell of an incredible and entertaining live act. Lead singer and guitarist Darren Glover is a true showman who is extremely animated and displays much swagger and zeal, whether he's twisting about on stage, walking into the audience or jumping on top of speakers.
The rhythm section of Darcy Yates and Chris Henry is very fluid, on point, and performs to utter perfection. Glover's all-encompassing and destructive fills were simply insane, and it's no stretch that after each song the audience were left in awe, wildly applauding with unquestionable approval.
The most memorable and impressive moment of their set had to be the extended jam on "Made Up My Mind," which featured an extended solo from Glover, who brazenly ripped countless notes from his Gibson Les Paul. Without a doubt Flash Lightnin tore it up and will continue to do so with uncompromising precision and monstrous riffs.
