CMW:
The High Dials

For
Montreal-based rock 'n' roll band The High Dials, craft and
musical integrity is the name of the game. This well-traveled,
well-rested, new-faced five-piece chooses to remain true to
their vision of making well-crafted rock music. They've enjoyed
international acclaim (primarily from the UK), features on
Little Steven's Underground Garage, a UK tour with The Brian
Jonestown Massacre, and all the great things that come with
those opportunities, all the while keeping it honest and true.
Trevor Anderson, lead vocalist of the Dials is a songwriter.
A songwriter who has crafted the music in such a way that
the many influences the band draws from seamlessly fuse together
to create a diverse, yet very approachable sound. "We've drawn
from our influences, but have maintained our own sound," says
Anderson on the phone from Montreal. "We like the way our
music sounds, and are constantly getting closer to where we
want to be with the music." The creative journey is a constant
one, and for this band it's a steady course.
After a brief hiatus from touring, and undergoing some personnel
changes, the Dials are eager to get in front of an audience.
"We're looking forward to playing again. This is a new time
for us." With appearances coming up at The Silver Dollar on
March 9th as part of Canadian Music Week, and then traveling
to Austin Texas for SXSW the following week, the High Dials
will have several opportunities to introduce the new them.
"We're going to be playing new material for the most part,
and we're very excited about that."
The band is currently working on the follow-up full-length
record to 2005's very well received and acclaimed War of
the Wakening Phantoms. No title or release date as of
yet on the new album for the unsigned Dials. "We're very cohesive,
and know each other very well," says Anderson. Usually those
two elements provide some pretty sound results. The High Dials
are ready to roll.
Integrity still lives in rock 'n' roll, and The High Dials
are there to illustrate that. With a sound that draws from
everything around them, but is still all theirs, this global
band is ready to show the world who they really are.
