SoundPicks:
Canadian Music Week's Top Five Acts You Can't Miss!
- by Cody
McGraw -
The
Acorn @ The Horseshoe Thursday March 6
Since releasing Glory Hope Mountain last year as a
follow-up to their incredible EPs, this Ottawa band has made
waves throughout Canada. Don't miss one of Canada's best live
bands as they blow the roof off a legendary venue with their
introverted tracks no one can help but love.
Hot Springs @ Sneaky Dee's
March 7
There's a reason this band is playing the SoundProof
showcase, be sure to come out and see why. The idiosyncratic
vocals of Giselle Webber should get you there, and the thrilling
tracks will be enough to keep you listening.

Fox Jaws @ Rancho Relaxo
Saturday March 8
Fox Jaws is the kind of band that is so infectious you can't
help but want to see them succeed. It's sure to be an amazing
live show.

Jenn Grant @ The Rivoli
Saturday March 8
With the buzz from 2007 still fresh on this P.E.I. songstress,
Jenn Grant must know everyone expects big things from her.
Her voice is quiet, yet powerful, but most of all, beautiful.
She will surely rise above the other songstresses and be one
of the best parts of this festival.

The Breeders @ The Phoenix
Saturday March 8
The most anticipated moment of the festival may be the return
of the amazing Deal sisters and their band The Breeders. Many
thought they'd never tour again, but here they come. This
is may be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so I suggest getting
there early if you want to get in.
